What are you most excited to see on the first day of school?
I am most excited for it to feel like opening day at a theme park, it will feel as though we are introducing new rides for the world. As a football lover, it would look like being part of the Super Bowl parade. Our first day will be a big day for the students, parents, faculty, Discovery schools, and Ochsner Healthcare. It is going to be great!
How will you spread happiness across campus?
On Discovery’s campus, you will see excitement and feel joy, energy, and compassion. Most likely, you will see it worn on my face daily. No matter what is going on, on campus, you will always be greeted at the door, welcomed at the door with a genuine, sincere smile and an appreciation for your visit.
How would you describe yourself?
I am approachable and compassionate. I do my best to be understanding of what is going on with whomever I interact with. I do everything with heart and am genuine and sincere about it.
Who in your family inspires you?
My entire family, I can’t just name one person because they are an actual village. They have always been supportive. Sometimes they need to know the “why,” but that doesn't stop the support. My family is my biggest cheerleader; they’re going to push me and encourage me.
What does your family look like?
I am married, and we share two daughters. My oldest daughter will be attending school with me. She will be in the third grade next school year and has been recruiting many friends. This has been all on her own; this is her passion now.
Final thoughts?
Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery is a public charter school. It should be everyone's school of choice. Discovery Schools have outstanding academics and school culture. I can not think of a reason parents wouldn’t make the choice for their child to be a part of this AWESOME opportunity.
