A Reflective Reset For June

The school year demanded so much of you—your time, your energy, your heart. And somehow, even when it got messy or complicated, you showed up. You led morning meetings while mentally planning parent calls. You encouraged growth while balancing dozens of moving pieces. You made magic out of ordinary days.

Now, June has arrived. The pace slows, the noise softens. And in this space, a gentle invitation appears: Come back to yourself.

Because here’s the truth: teaching is what you do, but it’s not all you are.

Too often, the school year pulls us into survival mode. It’s easy to go months without reflecting on what makes you feel alive—as a person, not just a professional.

June is your space to reset—not with guilt or pressure to “get ahead,” but with curiosity about who you’ve become and who you want to be.

🌈 Spark-Returning Prompts

These prompts are meant to help you reconnect with yourself, your joy, and the version of you that doesn’t revolve around lesson plans and meetings.

Take what you need. Leave what you don’t.

  • What part of myself did I set aside this year that I want to make space for again?
Maybe it was your love for reading, your creative side, or just a Saturday morning with no obligations. What’s been waiting quietly in the background?
  • When did I feel most alive—either in or out of the classroom?
Think about moments that gave you a jolt of energy or deep calm. What were you doing? Who were you with?
  • What’s something I’ve always wanted to try (inside or outside of teaching) that I’ve never permitted myself to explore?
Is it launching a side passion, leading a new unit, or trying something completely unrelated to education? Name it.
  • If I could design my dream teaching day—with no limits—what would it look and feel like?
This isn’t about logistics. It’s about vision. What would light you up? How would your students feel?

You don’t have to answer them all at once. Just start with one. Write it in a journal, record a voice note during your walk, or discuss it with a friend.

June isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about remembering who you are when the noise fades—and honoring the spark that led you to this work in the first place. You deserve that space. And the spark? It’s still there. Let’s help it glow again. 💛
